February 11, 2016: David stopped by to check out the project. He was having problems aligning the landing strut tubes
with the fuselage. They were just slightly off by 1.5 mm, but this was enough to prevent the bolts from going through. He
had to cut the tubes off the top of the strut and reattach them.
February 16, 2016: Mark stopped by to check out the project.
2015 Visitors
April 22, 2015: My good friend Peter visited me from Germany. He was in town on business and stopped by to see the progress
being made on the plane.
March 16, 2015: My good friend Rich (right) and his son, Mike (left), from Florida, stopped by during a trip to the West coast.
2014 Visitors
November 30, 2014: Ted and David drove all the way from Sacramento to see the project. David is looking for a flying Cozy IV to purchase and
he wanted to see one under construction so he could see how they were built. He brought his Dad along as he is also
interested in airplanes.
June 29, 2014: Marc Z. visited after the Columbia Canards-West Fly-in. Since Marc is a EAA technical counselor, I had asked him to come
inspect my project. He liked it very much and told me to keep doing what I have been doing. Thank you Marc!
2013 Visitors
November 23, 2013: Ward is a new Cozy builder from Walnut Creek. He has just started chapter 4. He stopped by to check out
my project and to pick up some ideas on building a Cozy.
October 2, 2013: Maggie's friend Harold from Boca Raton, stopped by to see a homebuilt plane under construction. This was the
first homebuilt he had seen. He spends a month or two in a San Francisco condo every year to get away from the Florida
Summer heat.
September 15, 2013: Marion, Zampini, Ambles and Fred. Two friends of Marion and Fred were visiting from Saint-Chamas, France. They are
both A&P mechanics in France and were interested in seeing a homebuilt plane under construction.
September 15, 2013: Zampini and Ambles didn't know a person could build a plane at home. They were impressed with the project.
February 13, 2013: Fred & Marion were married today!!! They were married this morning in a civil ceremony.
After the wedding (simple, no guests) they stopped by to see my project.
Two days ago, we had arranged to go
sightseeing in the Bay Area (they are from France) as they were only planning on getting a marriage license
today, however, the lines were short for the civil ceremony, so they went ahead and tied the knot.
After viewing my project, we went flying in my
Piper Cherokee PA28-180C (N8085W) and had a great flight. The route we took was from Reid-Hillview (KRHV) in San Jose,
to Monterey then to
Santa Cruz and then returned to Reid-Hillview. It was about an hour and a half flight. They really enjoyed
their first flight in a general aviation aircraft. It was quite a day for them!!!

July 21, 2012: Helen, from Houston, Texas, came for a visit.
She had only seen my project on the website and was anxious to see what it looked
like in person. She was very surprised at how much easier it was to understand the project
when seeing it for real rather than through pictures.
August 15, 2012: Helena was very curious about the airplane I was building, so she stopped by to take
a look at it. I *think* she was surprised one could build a plane in their garage ;-)
January 4th, 2012: Betty, Jeff's Mom, was visiting from Virginia for Christmas and she
wanted to see my project. Jeff brought her over so I took a picture of her next to the "soon"
to be completed airplane.
July 8, 2012: Alex stopped by to see my project. We had flown to Harris Ranch for lunch in my
Piper Cherokee 180. After returning, he stopped by to check on the Cozy progress.
2011 Visitors
October 10 & 11, 2011: Nick stopped by on his way from Charlotte, SC to Los Angeles, CA. He was delivering a
LongEze he had been modifying for the past 2-years. We had a GREAT time sightseeing
in San Francisco, even though it was drizzly all day. Here is where we visited during the
six hours we spent sightseeing:
- Went to the city using BART
- Ferry Building
- Hiked up to Coit Tower
- Fisherman's Wharf
- Museum Mechanique (museum of historic arcade machines)
- National Maritime museum (both Hyde street pier and the visitor's center)
- Ghiradelli Square (had to get a free sample of chocolate!)
- Fort Mason
- Dinner at Scoma's
- Met Kevin (another Cozy builder) after dinner and took a ride in his Nisson Leaf
We had a GREAT time!
December 29th, 2011: Ashely, granddaughter of Jeff and Dee Dee, was visiting for Christmas. Jeff and
I took her flying in my Piper Cherokee 180. This was the first time she had been in a general
aviation aircraft and she absolutely loved the 2-hour flight. She said it was the "best" day of her
life!

August 17, 2010: Peter has an interest in building his own airplane. He had been researching
various designs when he came across a
*website*
which shows the location of many canard builders on a
map of the USA.
He noticed that I was building a Cozy and was in the San Francisco Bay Area. He then sent
me an EMAIL and requested to look at my project as the Cozy is one of the planes he is considering.
This is a picture of him on the day he came over to look at my project. Good luck Peter in finding
a fun airplane to build!
July 24, 2010: Dawn, the daughter of Jeff & Dee Dee, came over to look at my project. Her husband
had stopped by last December to see it (see Brian below) and she has been curious as to what
it looked like.
April 8, 2010: Don flew in from Columbia, California, in his Long-Eze. He had never seen a canard project
under construction and was curious to see what mine looked like. He also wanted to discuss
the status of the program line-up for the annual Canards West Fly-in
for which I am the program coordinator and he is the organizer.
February 22, 2010: Bob stops by to check out the project. Notice the plane has the
beginings of a nose. Also, the rudder pedals are present.

I talked her into jumping in the plane and having her picture taken.
August 15, 2009: The first relatives to visit my project! This is Markus and Flora from Austria.

July 3, 2009: Rob, a Cozy builder, checking out my project
June 24, 2009: Fred from Colorado
March 2009: Jackie has seen this project progress from bare foam to something she can actually
sit in. I talked her into climbing on-board to have her picture taken.
April 2009: Neil, a fellow Cozy builder from Albany, California. He was giving
me hand and decided to try out the Cozy.
2008 Visitors
